Duer Wins at a New Weight

Carolina Duer defeated Vanesa del Valle Calderon last month at the Polideportivo Cooperativa Tortuguitas in Buenos Aires, Argentina by unanimous decision. This was a tune-up night for Duer after a nine month layoff.

Duer moved up in weight to fight as a featherweight. She weighed in at 122 pounds. This was the first time Duer fought an opponent with a losing record and a scheduled six rounder in six years.

Duer won with scores of 60-54 twice and the unusual mark of 60-54.5. Duer is now 18-3-1 with 5 KOs. Calderon falls to 5-10 with one KO.
